Tricks to running your Business Better.

Hello my name is Brian. I am a current customer with Websiteforge and Shane was kind enough to let me post a few things on his blog about running a website from a business perspective. I would like for this forum to become a place to were we all can communicate to each other about problems we face running websites and offer solutions to each other. So please if you have a problem or a solution to a problem feel free to post them here so we can work on them together and best of all it is free advice! So lets start it off with my biggest headache Parcel Post Shipping!

One of the most frustrating things I have found was shipping parcel post items. We stood in long lines at the postal service during the holiday's just to send parcel post packages. I would ask the people who work at the post office is their another way to do this? Of course they all said No! Well I requested a meeting with the head person at the USPS for our area during our meeting he told me about Stamps.com This is a really nice site you can print everything from this site for your shipping needs including parcel post packages no more standing in long lines! At most of those USPS offices when you have a package's that are ready to go you just go to the drop off  window and leave it and walk out. This is a major time saver if you can't get a pick up at your location. We also managed to get USPS to put us on a regular pick up at our store for no extra charge! By doing this I saved $1200 a year! I was paying people to stand in line at the post office when they could of been at the store doing work. So It never hurts to ask for a meeting with the head person of a department you are dealng with because all they can do is say is no. You never know what you can get as a result of that meeting you requested.
