Navigation Change

As all of you know, we recently added a left hand navigation to the Member's Area. This menu is faster and offers an easier way to navigate. It's also faster and does not require a screen refresh. For the last couple months we left the older Top Navigation there to help you with the transition.

Last Sunday we finally finished the transition and removed the Top Navigation.

We received two support tickets over the last week asking what happened and where certain things were. Take a minute to click and expand the branches on the new menu. I think you'll find it faster and easier. Especially on sites with large numbers of pages and products.

I like the new navigation. I am able to open and close the categories as needed. Can I get that same option on my live site. With cookies keeping the navigation list open it can get pretty ugly looking at times for my customers.

Actually Chuck. You can currently force the tree to start as closed. It will only show the category you are currently on. Hit LIVE SUPPORT and ask how.

Let me qualify that. You can't totally shut down your category branches past the main Categories. Only because most site visitors would be confused. You must at least display your highest level of categories.

Shane, I've caught myself looking for the old drop down menu a couple times, but I've gotten used to it now. I like it better, thanks for the update! Noah

BTW, we will eventually add the "bread crumb" navigation across the top of the member's area screens. The old dropdown navigation served as a current location indicator too and now that it's gone sometimes it's hard to see at a glance your whereabouts.

With the bread crumbs this inconvenience will be fixed making it plain to see where you're at.
