Since the latest upgrade you can choose to display ANY product field including the image thumbnail in your shopping cart, your customer's invoice and your drop shipping notifications.

If you are interested take a look at the "Product Type/Fields" settings in your e-commerce module.

You may also add/remove product fields to and from the product export file.

What would be nice if we could a gallery of nice images for other cart pictures. Also some of us would like a quote on a price for a custom picture for our cart to match our site. This would be a really nice option.
