Multiple Logins for your Website Forge Member's Area

Over the last couple years more and more customers have been asking for the ability to provide additional logins with restricted access to their Member's Area. Generally the reason was to divide the content management tasks among several people in the organization while maintaining the final control over Publishing the site.

We recently added a sub-account feature that is in beta testing. So now you can provide restricted access to certain pages and features within your web site.

For example -- if you would like someone from your order fulfillment center to only access the order list and not access any other portion of the site you can simply create an account with this set of restrictions.

We are looking for about 10 total beta testers. Beta testers will receive this feature for free while in the beta testing stages. We have 3 beta testers so far. Please contact support@websiteforge.com if you wish to participate.

I would like the Green publish button to go away or have the option to enable it for the sub accounts that would be a nice feature....

Hi Brian. That's on the list. To disable publish. Hide credit card numbers (when shown in manual mode) and a few other options.

Hey Everyone...

I would have to agree that diabling the "Publish" button is paramount at this point. I think the ONLY person that should be allowed to publish the site is the site admin, you HAVE to have a final authority control in place.

Not sure what the technical limitations are... could you please explain either here or email me? I would think that you could create a login panel in the Frame Type area that WAS the login panel from the main WF system, but all it would be is a plain "looking" login panel you could assign to a site. This way you are not having to create a new "tool" as you would be using the current login mechanism through WF the only thing you would be doing is shelling it inside users sites just like you would an I-Frame to shell a site within a site.

Ok Everyone,

I think I have a solution (albeit a work around :) ) to the login page issue.

Shane, what if you or someone created a Login Page on the WF site using the No Design option... and all this page had on it would be the Login panel. Then the induividual site owners could put an I-Frame on one of the pages of their site that calls up that No Design Login page from WF and thereby giving the illusion that it is a login panel on their own site???

Let me know if you think this is plausible or not.

Hi Brent. We are going to add a Frame Type called "Sub Account Login" available to any sites with "Sub Account" mode enabled to meet this need for you.
